PTO Meeting

Our next PTO meeting will be this Tuesday, January 13th at 7:00pm in the Walton Art/Music room. Walton science teachers, Andrea Fouse and Kerry Tyrrell will join the meeting to share an update about their work with students in science classes.

The second issue of the Walton Wonder, our student-run newspaper, is now available. A job well done by our news team!

Punctuality Reminder

As we enter the new year, I would like to remind all families of the importance of good punctuality. Classroom instruction begins each day at 8:40am. On days with significant weather, we will sometimes be a few minutes behind, but generally speaking, when students arrive after this time, they will be considered late. Our most important foundational work in reading and math often occurs in the morning. When students arrive late, they miss key lessons and must play catch- up for the rest of the day. If your family is struggling with attendance or arriving on time, please feel free to reach out for support.

Warm Clothes

Winter is here! As a reminder, we try to get outside whenever possible throughout the winter. If it’s very cold (feels like 20 degrees or below), or if there is significant rain, or snow, we will consider staying inside for recess. On cold days, please send students to school prepared to spend time outside with warm jackets, hats, gloves, etc.
